A One Day Workshop on

Leadership Excellence

by
Mr. Tony Hunt
Â

This brilliant and original workshop has been successfully delivered all over the UK, Europe and the Middle East. It forms the core of UK Seminars’ own six-day, ILM accredited programme, and it incorporates much of the most inspirational leadership theory to have been developed over the last twenty years.

The seminar is debate-based and highly interactive. You will work with other delegates on the course in pairs and in small groups. You will also have the opportunity to develop a personal action plan so that you can implement your learning immediately on your return to the workplace.
Â

‘Leadership’ not ‘Management’
• We have moved into an era where it is simply not enough to administer a group of people and be called a manager.
• What is required now is the ability to motivate and to inspire, and our seminar focuses on these very needs.
Â

Target Audience:
If You are currently leading a team (whether a small team or a large business). You will already have a great deal of practical experience. Use that experience better by learning to implement the best of new leadership theory. Reflective Practice is a sign of the true professional.

If You are a newly appointed manager. If you are about to take the first steps on the managerial ladder, you will now know how lonely and challenging that role can be. This seminar will help you to develop the necessary coping skills – and it will help prevent you from making too many errors as you come to terms with the demands of your new role.
This seminar is equally good for project team leaders who need to pull a group together quickly.
Â

What are the key things you will learn?
What it is that makes all great leaders great – a set modules forms the curriculum of the programme. Understanding and applying these notions appears to be necessary for success. Our Leadership Model explores these characteristics. It is our balance of these characteristics that helps determine our personal leadership style.
Â

Key points to remember and answers to most common questions
• We focus on how everyone can be more effective. This means that you spend time thinking about how you can better develop your own skills.
• Each section ends with an action plan, so you leave with a specific set of strategies that you can implement immediately.
• The seminar is not simply theoretical. Throughout the programme, we give practical examples from successful businesses and individuals. We ask you to think of how you can apply lessons learned from these examples into your own situation.

How does the course work?
There are ten modules to this programme, and these build to a comprehensive plan of action that you will be able to implement immediately on your return to the workplace.
We look at the various theories of leadership, their useful characteristics and their limitations. We then outline our own Leadership model.
Â

Our model consists of:
• Four intrapersonal characteristics (this means the way you talk to yourself)
• Four interpersonal qualities (the way you communicate with others)
• One module relating to Maintaining Discipline
• One module relating to the Ethics of Leadership

The Seminar Overview
We examine each characteristic in turn. We look at examples of great practice in real life, the theory relating to each, and where we can, deduce a set of rules to apply in each area.

In addition, much of the seminar is workshop orientated. Over the very intensive day, delegates will work with each other in a variety of exercises, projects and role-plays, all carefully designed to enhance the learning experience.
After the seminar, all delegates receive a ‘Managers’ Toolbox in soft copy. This toolbox consists of further reading material, spreadsheets and presentation printouts that will allow delegates to reflect on their very busy day.
