Procurement is where a company’s margin is quietly made or lost — in the negotiation that anchored badly, the vendor never developed, the stock that sat for a year, the SOP that read well and failed its first audit. Most training here is theory about “supply chain management.” Your purchase, sourcing and stores teams need something else: working procedure — spend analysis, negotiation frameworks, vendor evaluation, inventory norms and SOP design — taught by practitioners who have run the function.

That is this practice. Princeton Academy runs procurement and supply-chain programmes for company teams — the buying layer and the control layer from one partner. Moving goods across borders? The FEMA, letter-of-credit, customs and logistics programmes live on our Global Trade & EXIM page.

Two tracks

The buying layer, and the control layer

01

Procurement & vendor management

The buying layer: strategic procurement & vendor management, vendor management & development and purchase management & negotiation skills — spend analysis, sourcing strategy, supplier evaluation and BATNA/ZOPA negotiation.

02

Inventory & operating control

The control layer: inventory management, audit-proof SOPs and designing, deploying and sustaining SOPs — the norms, documents and reviews that keep stock, process and audit findings under control.

Why Princeton Academy

Practical, procedural, and built for company teams

  • For working teams, not textbooks — built for the purchase, sourcing, stores and operations teams who already own the numbers.
  • Frameworks you can use on Monday — spend analysis, BATNA/ZOPA negotiation, vendor scorecards, inventory norms and SOP templates, worked on your own cases.
  • Both layers from one partner — the buying layer and the control layer, so procurement, stores and quality speak one language.
  • Kept current — programmes revised as GeM portal rules, standards and audit expectations change.
  • Transparent pricing — published fees on open programmes; clear per-batch quotes for in-company delivery.
  • Since 1997 — in-company across India, or open batches in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.

Selling to the government? Our Mastering GeM Tender Bidding workshop trains manufacturer sales and bid teams to win on the Government e-Marketplace — a corporate programme no one else runs.

Questions

Frequently asked

Who should attend the procurement and supply-chain programmes?

The people who buy, store and control: purchase managers and buyers, sourcing and category leads, stores and inventory staff, planners, and the operations or quality owners of SOPs. Heads of SCM attend the strategic-procurement programme. No prior “course” is assumed — working familiarity with your own purchases, stock and procedures is enough.

Are these theory sessions or hands-on?

Hands-on. The negotiation programme runs live role plays; the vendor programmes build scorecards; the inventory programme classifies sample stock data; the SOP programmes draft and stress-test procedures. Participants bring their own cases where confidentiality allows — those make the best material.

Can one workshop cover our mixed team — purchase, stores and finance together?

Yes, and it is often the most valuable format: the inventory and procurement programmes are designed so buying, stores and finance hear the same norms together, which is where most internal misfires between the three teams end.

Do participants leave with their own SOPs, or just the method?

Both SOP programmes work on your own procedures during the workshop, so participants leave with drafted or updated documents, not only a template. Where a team needs follow-on support to complete a set, ask us — extended engagements are a standard offering.
